"Ladder has really supported me during this period of my life”
Connie has been involved with Ladder for just six weeks, but says the program is already having a positive impact on her life.
At 18 years old, and in the midst of studying for year 12 exams, Connie has had to adapt to a new living environment after being forced to leave her home. A transition, she says, which has been made easier thanks to Ladder.
“Ladder has really helped me settle into the foyer quicker than I would have without them,” she says.
Connie adds that connecting with mentors, such as Ladder Development Coach, Karen Paxman, has encouraged her to get involved in social activities and focus on her health. One of the highlights so far, she says, was going to the local football club's women's team try outs with Karen.
Overall, Connie says Ladder has “given me the motivation to maintain my health and get involved in regular activities, and has just really supported me during this period of my life”.
All the best for your exams, Connie! We have no doubt that you are well on track to achieving your goal of becoming a biological anthropologist!
