Employment leads to confidence building
A young person has secured their first job and grown in confidence thanks to the Ladder Step Up Western Sydney program.
Stevie, 17, disengaged from education at 16 years of age and prior to joining Ladder, had never had a job, or even experienced a job interview.
Ladder Development Coach, Harley McGregor said that when he first met Stevie, he could see she had great potential.
"For various reasons, Stevie faced challenges growing up and needed support to help her improve her health and wellbeing and gain meanginful employment."
"In just 8 weeks, she has blossomed and is fully taking advantage of all we have to offer."
"It is extremely encouraging and rewarding to see the difference that can be made to a young person's life when the right supports are put in place."
Stevie has secured a casual position with new employer, JB Hi-Fi and is excited to get started.
“I have learnt that I can achieve anything I set my heart and mind to achieve. I’m doing better with each day."
"I am very excited to start working and find a new better confident me," Stevie said.
